No heat
The drum turns but the air is cold. On electric dryers that's often a heating element, thermal fuse or thermostat. On gas dryers it can be the igniter or gas valve coils.
If your dryer runs but your clothes come out damp, or it needs two cycles to finish, something is wrong and it's worth finding out what. We repair gas and electric dryers and tell you the price before we start.

Clothes need two cycles. Restricted airflow from lint in the vent is a frequent cause, along with a weak heat source or a moisture sensor problem.
Nothing happens when you press start. Possible causes are a door switch, start switch, thermal fuse, or power supply problem.
Worn drum rollers, an idler pulley, a belt, or a glide that has worn through are the usual suspects.
The motor hums but the drum is still, which usually means a broken belt.
Stop using the dryer and unplug it. This often points to a vent blockage or an overheating component.
We service gas and electric dryers from most common household brands, including Whirlpool, Maytag, GE, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire and Kenmore, whether it's a standalone unit or part of a stacked laundry pair.
Write the brand and model number in the request form, or tell us when you call. The model number is usually on a label inside the door, lid or frame, or on the back of the unit.
We confirm a 2-hour arrival window, then the technician checks heat, airflow and the drive system and tells you what failed and what it costs to fix. The $95 diagnosis is applied toward the repair if you approve it. Many dryer parts are small and common, so a same-visit repair is sometimes possible when we have the part; otherwise we order it and come back.
A dryer is a simple machine and most failures are inexpensive parts, so repair usually makes sense unless the unit is very old or the drum or motor has failed. We'll tell you straight if we think replacing it is the better call.

On an electric dryer, the heating element, thermal fuse or a thermostat has usually failed. On a gas dryer, it's often the igniter or gas valve coils. A technician can test each one.
It's best not to. Long dry times often mean restricted airflow, and lint buildup and overheating are a fire risk. Have it checked.
Yes. Tell us which type you have when you book, since the parts that fail are different.
We check airflow as part of the diagnosis and will tell you if the vent is the cause. Ask us when you book whether the work needed is something we can handle.
